ALAY KAPWA LAUNCHES ITS YOUTH SAVERS PROGRAM
ALAY KAPWA YOUTH SAVERS’ MOVEMENT FOR FINANCIAL LITERACY (AKYS MFL). With the hopes of strengthening the principle of savings to the youth members of the Alay Kapwa - elementary school children and high school students, the AKYS was launched on December 10, 2022.
The project was a brainchild of the AKYS Committee headed by Dir. Flordeliza C. Gecobe and its members, Treasurer Estrellita V. Fanuncio, GAD/Credit Committee Chairperson Mona Lisa A. Cabato, and the Board of Directors.
Mr. Emerson Balut, Accountant of the Dep-Ed Division Office joined the launching as its Resource Speaker.
Selected students who graduated from the Aflatoun Savings Program were also invited wherein they shared their learnings as young savers of the Cooperative.
The Member-Awardees as Best and Promising Teachers are supporting the Alay Kapwa Team in the implementation of the Program
NV - AKYS MFL Background and Rationale
The NV - AKYSS MFL Team, its Board of Directors, Management and Staff launched this program with the aim of teaching the Alay Kapwa youth members to be financially literate and independent and be able to remain competitive and economically viable.
This program was launched based on the premise that the children’s financial decisions can have lasting financial consequences.
With this program the Alay Kapwa joins the Department of Education in its battle to cry to teach learners key financial concepts on earning, saving, spending, budgeting and others.
